Pauline Youngblood: Founder and President
During her career as a medical aesthetician, Pauline was in constant contact with patients that had traumatized skin. She found that there were no makeup options available to her that would be a good enough quality for her client's skin nor help their skin heal in any way. Because of this, she began working with chemists to develop a better, usable option: a product that would cover raw, inflamed or discolored skin, while allowing it to breathe and most importantly, heal. This led to her discovery of natural mineral cosmetics and her brand was born.
Mineral Makeup: What is it?
As the Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics brand likes to say: "not all minerals are created equal." There is what is known as a mineral scale, a rating from 1-25, 25 being the absolute best possible. Youngblood uses minerals ONLY rated at 25. To explain that in an even simpler way, any mineral or ingredient that Youngblood has that another makeup line may also have, Youngblood will always have the higher quality of that same ingredient.
Youngblood mineral cosmetics follow the standards they use in Europe instead of the standards they use in the United States. In the United States, there are only a mere 12 ingredients that can not be used in cosmetics. Europe, on the other hand, has over 1300 ingredients they do not allow in their cosmetics. That huge difference gives you a quality product you are putting on your skin everyday when you choose Youngblood!
The Youngblood brand, for example, is one of the top known makeup brands in Italy, and Italy is very picky about what can be sold in their country! Some may wonder why makeup trends take longer to be produced from Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics compared to brands you may spot at Sephora. There is a reason behind that! It takes a longer amount of time for Youngblood to produce a new palette or lipstick line because of all the time and work it takes to make it the best possible product! There is no cutting corners with this brand.
A great comparison: Youngblood's high mineral choice is like a high thread count choice in sheets. Youngblood uses the highest "thread count" to create a
top of the line product!
Youngblood mineral makeup will never clog your pores.
This is a term that is very important in the mineral cosmetics world. The Youngblood brand mills, or grinds, their minerals 4 times more than the average mineral makeup does. What does this mean, you ask?
The process of milling creates a higher quality pigment the more times it is done, to in turn create a richer pigment. When we speak of the term "pigment payoff" it means the same as more bang for your buck. A great example is using multiple Youngblood eye products and pigments together to get more of a pigment payoff.
Used in the below example are the two products pictured above.
In the picture you will see below are swatches of a popular shadow from one of Youngblood's eyeshadow quad sets. Exciting news! There are three different ways of wearing this product! One creative way is a professional tip given straight from our Youngblood educator in one of our in salon training classes. This tip will allow you to get the most pigmented look out of your product. If you use the Youngblood creme blush product under the eye shadow, just like you would use a primer on your lid, it will change the intensity of the shadow entirely! Thus, giving you a whole other option for wear with just the purchase of one product.
BONUS: You can use the creme blush as a lip stain, too!
